Supporting Learning Materials Development

What's it all about?

It is about asking, and asking before using!

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) are rights given to the owners and creators of original works.

The purpose of IPR is to provide the owners and creators with some control over the exploitation of their work. It provides a level of protection. Copyright is one strand from IPR.

If we are going to use 'other people's stuff' we really should check with them that they are OK! with us using it.

We should also make sure that they are OK with us changing it and/or using it in the way we want to use it.

If we use third party content (other people's stuff) in our Learning and Teaching materials then we should identify it.
